8 Days to Tri…500 Lbs No More…

8DaysWell, I clearly had so much fun on my rest day yesterday, that I never got around to making my post. What an awesome day I had yesterday, and I throughly utilized it. My daughter who is an amazing babysitter, if you’re in need of one; cpr, first aid, and safe sitter trained (hint, hint*G*) was off babysitting by 8 am. So by 8:15, I was out the door with Cub, to run errands and get ready for our day ahead. We were back home by 11:15, with bills paid, groceries bought, and even a few school supplies picked up. Packed 11825222_10207610631811788_6814067420994298588_neverything up, and had 45 minutes downtime to just chill with them before we left. Just long enough for an episode of ‘Once Upon a Time’ on Netflix. Grabbed the kiddos and we headed out the door to Spokane, to meet my parents for a picnic at Manito Park in
Spokane. Let me just note that I had checked the weather at the start of the week, and throughly thought this through, I would have done this far differently. Like meeting at the lake I think! It was 100 degrees on the way into Spokane, and my car has no air conditioning. Not only does it have no air conditioning, but it recently started blowing very hot air out of the vents, and we haven’t fixed it yet. It also has leather interior, which meant when I got to the park, I was so sweaty it looked like I had just gotten out of the lake. I am looking at this as another form of training. Not sure how many calories I burned yesterday while driving, but I am thinking it’s a win/win. *G* After cooling down in the shade, and enjoying some food with my family, we checked out the Japanese Garden, took pics with Grandma (pictured below), and than drove to

burned. Woot!!

I enjoyed scheduling next week, sending out emails, and texts while we cooked dinner, and watched more of our favorite show. Last night was a fun event with the Tri Club where we met at the beach, and went swimming with go sticks during a full moon, and in fact this was a blue moon. After we ate our dinner, we got ready, and went downtown to Sanders Beach. Swam with my hubby wearing glo sticks, and then with the Tri team joined us. What a great idea and so freaking fun! I sat on the beach in my awesome Cabela’s chair. This chair is11224382_10207606945999645_6153785423934177727_n very large, and was a gift from my husband when I was around 300 lbs in weight. You see, I had never owned a camp chair or lawn chair, because I broke multiple chairs as a teen and young adult. Imagine slamming to the ground in front of a group of people as teenager. Not fun! I ended up bruising my tail bone from sitting on the ground so much after I broke those chairs.. This chair is now very large and can fit two people in it. Last night I cuddled with my son in a blanket, as he fell asleep in my arms, under the full moon, with the sound of the waves hitting the shore. Seriously, it was so needed to have that family time last night. There have been many sacrifices made by my family to get me to this point, and many nights where I left to train, and my kids were asleep when got home. I have missed a lot but I have also gained so much, as has my family during this process.  These moments of time with my family have become so precious to me, and it was a great way to end a wonderful rest day. Now back to training with
one week left to the Triathlon. Butterfly up and out.
